Hello buddies,
How are you all doing? How was your weekend? Hope fine?

Happy new week everyone. In the spirit of the new week, I present to you  an analogy.. Think and ponder on it.

One analogy " A fork is the perfect cutlery when you are devouring a delicious plate of spaghetti, but it is practically useless when drinking a cup of tea. Does this mean that the fork is useless? Absolutely not."

What's the point? We are unique and special in the eyes of God, made for entirely different purposes. That you aren't doing what Mr A is using doesn't mean you are useless, it might mean that that isn't your calling?
Also, that you aren't where you want to be doesn't mean you are useless, it might just be that you aren't prepared. Don't try to hurry up ahead of God, it's just like being the only one with a teaspoon to eat a plate of food while others are with ridiculously large spoons. Equip yourself and bounce back. Those are what delays are for. You grab?
You are useful, never let anyone tell you otherwise.

On another note, here's what I wore to church yesterday, you like? (oots= outfit of the Sunday)

In loving memory: of when we were friends

Hello my people, How are you all?
Hope life is treating you fine?
Thank God it's Friday, my favorite day of the week..

So about today's post, I was wondering what to put up on the blog; I wanted to do a feature but I've not gotten all I need for it. So I don't know what took me to my Facebook page and I stumbled on this update I shared two years ago. It reads

"Time flies, things change, distance builds up, and somehow, best friends become mere acquaintances"

That sucks right? I guess I must have had a really bad day then.

Happy Tuesday lovely people.
How are you all doing? How was your weekend like?

So today, I want to share something with you.
I read this off somewhere but I can't really remember where. It says

"once you've accepted your flaws, no one can use them against you"

I tell you guys, no truer words have been said. We are all humans and no one is perfect; we have flaws and imperfections which makes us unique and special. Of course if you were perfect, God would have taken you up like Enoch.

I'm not talking about imperfections like a bad character; of course you'd have to change that if you are going somewhere in life.

I'm talking about accepting the fact that your big head is just awesome and means you have more brains, and your fat lips means you can eat more food, or your big eyes means you can see more things, or your small hands means you are small and adorable right?
No one is perfect. Flaws make us flawless. Embrace your flaws. No one can use it against you then.
Rant over.

What I'm listening to right now
I know I'm so late on this one, but this is my jam for the week. It is "murda" by Seyi Shay ft Patoranking & Shaydee.
And did I mention that this Patoranking guy is so cute? Lols. Watch the video here

That would be all for now.
Do have a lovely week guys.
Hugs and kisses. Xoxo.

Bus chronicles :The boy on the bus (Part 1)

Ermm, my good people, how are you all?
How was your week? Thank God it's another Friday ohhh..

See what I feel like eating right now. I will love you forever if you just prepare this for me right now.

So onto today's gist.
Ermm, so yesterday morning, I had a midterm so I had to be in school on time.
It was very early in the morning so I had to make my cup of coffee hot chocolate to kick start my metabolism and feel like the human being I've not been feeling lately.
In the process of making my chocolate drink - coffee shop style with whipped cream and all, I missed the bus in front of my house. So I had to walk down a few blocks to catch the other bus.

I ended up running to catch the bus because it was almost leaving while I was just crossing the road.
While I was still trying to catch my breath from the marathon I just ran and still trying to find a seat, the bus decided to rotate round a bend. To say I lost my balance is an understatement (try standing unsupported in a bus and let it rotate 180°, you'll understand better). I almost bumped into this Asian boy in front of me. I sat down next to him and silently said a prayer, thanking God that my chocolate drink didn't spill all over him. I then brought out my note to refresh my memory in preparation for my midterm. Out of the blues, the boy turned to me and spoke. I smiled for the first time since I woke up that morning.

To be continued...
What do you think he said to me?

PS: I wanted to write the full story but it would be too long so I decided to cut it in half. Who likes long blog posts anyway? Plus, I like the suspense I'm creating (grins evily)!

So how will you be spending your weekend? I'll try and relax because this past week was so stressful and tiring.
Remain awesome.
Hugs and kisses. Xoxo!

Ten thousand reasons

Happy Canadian thanksgiving day everyone.

This year has really been a great one and we have so many things to be grateful for. If not for anything, the fact that you are reading this post means that you are alive; once there is life there is hope and "a living dog is better than a dead lion"

In the spirit of thanksgiving, I want to specially thank God for enabling me find my student id and u-pass(transit pass) that I misplaced last Friday (only SFU students would know the importance of those two items). You see, when I went to see the movie on Friday night, I dropped those items at the box office of the cinema in the biggest mall in British Columbia (duh, my testimony must be magnified), you can imagine how paranoid I was when I discovered those items where missing. I tried contacting them and going back to the mall but couldn't find anything. So I dropped my number (special shout out to the my lovely Miss Dinah for her awesome help) and left.

By Saturday night, I got a call from the mall people ohh, telling me they found the items (with my u-pass intact). Praise the Lord!
Lols. So make sure you find even just a reason to thank God today while you eat your beautifully prepared turkey. Because as for me, I have ten thousand reasons to praise the Lord. Talking about turkey, here's what I'm having for thanksgiving. Come and join me.

Class, correct or not?

Happy Saturday people!
How are you doing? How was your week?
This past week was graduation week in my school and I knew a bunch of the people graduating so I went to congratulate them and take pictures. 4 years of university is not moin-moin. So congratulations once again to all that graduated and good luck in all your future endeavors.

Congrats Belema, Tekena, Chidom, Amarachi & Precious

So about my Friday night, this semester seems to be going on so fast and I haven't had a break in a long time so I decided to go see a movie since I have thanksgiving break on Monday and I'll be studying for my midterm (argh, I must graduate my own ohh). So I went and I saw this movie " Alexander and the terrible horrible no good very bad day ". It is a very funny movie and I should do a review of the movie sometime later, what do you think? The Friday night didn't end well sha (sobs). I will gist you people later.

So during the week, a friend was telling me about the convo between a student and a physiology instructor that occurred in her class and I decided to share it because it is very funny. It went like this.
Instructor: fair boy at the back, are you in my class..
Student: Yes
Instructor: are you sure you're taking this class and you're in Nursing department
Student: Yes
Instructor: I had to ask because handsome boys are not in Nursing but engineering..
(Class laughs)
Instructor: why are you students laughing at me?
Class: continued laughing
Instructor: class correct or not
Class: correct ...
Ermm, I found this very hilarious and as someone who was once in nursing school, I can certify that it is 100% correct ohhh. There are no fine guys in nursing department ohhh, and any one that manage and fine is the darling of the class.
Do you agree or disagree people?
Ermm, Monday, October 13th is Canadian thanksgiving day. What will you be doing if you are in Canada?
Have a lovely weekend guys. Stay positive
Hugs and kisses. Xoxo

The friendship tag : My honest opinion

Hey Guys,
Happy New Week.
How was your weekend? Hope it was fine?
Mine was pretty much good.
Ermmm, I took some pictures of the hair(not super clear though).

I tried right?

We were laughing because that white man there didn't stop looking into my phone and photo-bombing my selfies. lols. He appeared practically in all of them.

So about this post, I really want to talk about it because friendship means a lot to me; that's probably why I don't have lots of them. There are some funny tags that most of you must have heard that I really want to share. So lets roll.

  1.  If you are Nigerian or African, your parents must have said this to you at one time or the other "Don't let your friends choose you, choose your friends".I always thought this was funny because what about the people you want to choose? Haven't their parents already told them not to let people choose them?
  2. "If you don't "add" anything to my life, I can't be your friend". I always thought this was selfish, were you making friends to use them? so you end up having providers as friends; Nkechi borrows me clothes, John gives me food, Nkem's father is wealthy so I have to roll with the big guys etc.
  3. I can't even remember anymore. I can vouch that I had a long list of them, Where are these tags when you need them?
I personally think friendship should be based on common grounds such as companionship, loyalty and positivity. I think you attract people of your kind and you just click; I've made most of my best friends when I wasn't even looking or trying. And don't worry about bad friends, you can't attract what you're not (or so I think, I'm right abi?)

That's my opinion ohhh. So what do you think? What tags have you heard about friendship? You can share them below!

What I'm listening to right now!
This song is super good. It is called Great Nation and it is by Timi Dakolo : seriously this guy sings so good but I don't know why he is so underated in  :(. I stumbled upon the song on his instagram page. Listen and enjoy. We are all we have!

I hope you have a lovely week ahead.
Hugs and kisses. Xoxo.

Cheers to the frigging weekend

Hey lovely people,
How are you all?
How was your week guys? How are you going to spend your weekend?
As for me, this week was so hectic for me ohhh and I'm so happy I'm finally able to make a post. . I can't just wait for the holidays to come. I spent my week commuting to and from school. I had loads of midterms and school work; most students can relate. Good luck to everyone writing midterms and don't forget to get breaks in between studies.

So for my weekend, I started off by finally fixing my hair by myself. (clap for me). It took me approximately 5 hours. Dinah (my housemate) says the hair is fine, so I must have really done a good job. I'll see if I can post pictures of the hair later.

I'm also house hunting at the moment. I need to move out of where I'm staying by this month's end. So for those of you that are being led in your hearts, you can help me look for a student-affordable 2-bedroom apartment, suitable for 2 very gorgeous looking girls (I really mean that last part, Lols.). You can send me links on the comments.
First Sundays of every month is usually thanksgiving service. This Sunday is October thanksgiving so I'll be in church and you are all invited. That reminds me, uhmm, Christmas is almost here ohhh, and uhnmm, start making plans. Include me in yours ohhh. I can tell you secretly what to buy for me, (don't worry, I'll still pull the surprise look and pretend that I didn't know about the gift).

Weekend Puzzle
Biko, whose child is this?
If you are on either Facebook or Instagram, you must have met him. Whose child is he biko?

Quote of the weekend! ... And I wanna say thank you in case I don't thank you enough... (Beyonce in dance for you)
Y'all awesome.
Stay safe and have a lovely weekend.
Ps: You guys that drop comments: you're the real mvp. Keep reading and commenting.
Hugs and kisses. Xoxo!.

N/b: I'm really busy right now so I haven't set up my blog as much I want. I'll do that during the holidays (so expect some changes).  But if you have any ideas or suggestions, or anything in general, you can contact me by mail at

But still, like air, I rise

When I read on Bella naija sometime in August that the Ebola outbreak had gotten to Nigeria, I was more than petrified. That day, I knew that my subconscious was Catholic because I am sure I did the sign of the cross like 10 times on hearing the news.
Many things in Nigeria were screaming wrong already. In Kevin Hart's voice, "we wasn't ready" , and in my darling Olympic Nigerian boy's voice, "we never hexpererit". Come on, there was Boko Haram, the missing girls, corruption, poverty, and you can name it. I had concluded, Nigeria would not survive it.
My first thoughts went to my family. All my family, both nuclear and extended stay in Nigeria. How would they be safe? Thinking about that alone, I said a mental prayer, "Nigeria, you just have to survive this".
I started praying seriously. My dear, I'm sure most of you even did the same. And each day, I'll follow the news on Bella naija and see how far we are going.

To cut the long story short, thanks to national heroes such as the Late Adadevoh and other medical team and the government, Nigeria contained Ebola. Compared to other countries affected, we did it!
Why am I writing this?
Because I truly believe in Nigeria. One day, boko haram and corruption will be no more and I will proudly blog again and say "we did it". One day!
Happy 54th independence day Nigeria, Giant of Africa. I'm proud to be a Nigerian.
I'll just conclude with some lines from the famous poem by Maya Angelou..
"You may write me down in history
You may trod me in the very dirt...
But still, like dust, I'll rise
Out of the huts of history's shame,
Up from a past that's rooted in pain,
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear,
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear,
But still, like air, I'll rise"- Maya Angelou
Still we rise!
On another note, Happy New Month Guys.
Hugs and kisses. Xoxo
